Divine Mercy Cenacle
The Saint Stanislaus Divine Mercy Cenacle is a parish ministry that works to share the message of Divine Mercy through words, deeds and prayer. Our work of mercy is to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for the sick and dying. Our Prayer Shawl Ministry provides ‘shawls’ created with love and prayer to those who are struggling physically, emotionally or spiritually. If you would like the Cenacle to pray for a loved one who is sick or dying please contact Eileen at 215-527-0269 or Pat at 215-896-0871. Members (2) are available to pray the Chaplet at the bedside of your loved one.
“At the hour of their death, I defend as My own glory every soul that will say this chaplet; or when others say it for a dying person, the pardon is the same. When this chaplet is said by the bedside of a dying person, God’s anger is placated, unfathomable mercy envelops the soul, and the very depths of My tender mercy are moved for the sake of the sorrowful Passion of My Son.” (Diary of St. Faustina #811)
Devotions and Enrichment
“10-Minute Catechism”
On the 4th Sunday of each month, following the 9am Mass, one of our parish Priests or Deacons will be giving a brief 10-minute presentation on a relevant topic, including time for questions about the subject. We will limit the total time to 10 minutes in order to not interfere with your other activities after Mass. Check the Sunday bulletin for dates. Any parishioners who are interested can remain after Mass to participate. We will be gathering in the front pews on the Lansdale Avenue side of the Church, near the piano. All are welcome!
Flame of Love Rosary
You are invited to join in prayer at our FLAME of LOVE ROSARY every 1st Saturday at 3:30pm in the Church.
“GIFT” (Growing in Faith Together)
The parish program called GIFT (Growing In Faith Together) sponsors speakers on a variety of topics who do a one-hour presentation on subjects related to living out our Catholic faith amidst the challenges of the modern world. Past topics have included medical ethics, faith conversion experiences, a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, forgiveness, pornography, human sexuality, drug and alcohol addictions, vocations, prayer, family life, and young adult ministry. GIFT meetings are usually held on the second Tuesday of each month, except for the summer months. For more information, contact Deacon Tony Bellitto at 215-783-2946 or abellitto@verizon.net.
Lectio Divina
“Lectio Divina is a way of listening to what our Lord wishes to tell us in His Word, and of letting ourselves be transformed by the Spirit” – Pope Francis, Evangelii Gaudium
By reading, listening to, responding to and resting in the Word of God we grow closer to Him. Visit Mcgrathblog.nd.edu for further information. Lectio Divina sessions at St. Stan’s are on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm in the Parish Center. No registration is required. Please BYOBible.
Liturgical Study – Elements of the Catholic Mass Study Series
The Second Vatican Council declared that the faithful should participate in the liturgy “fully aware of what they are doing.” Elements of the Catholic Mass is designed to help the faithful better appreciate and understand the signs, symbols, gestures, words, and beauty of the Mass. Featuring Fr. Douglas Martis, former director of the Liturgical Institute, the program consists of thirty-one beautifully produced short videos (approximately 4 minutes long). The videos will be accompanied by guided discussion to further enhance understanding and provide answers to participants’ questions. The goals of this study group are to lead its members to a more fully conscious and active participation in the liturgy as well as to serve as an introduction to deeper studies on the Eucharist as we complete the final year of the National Eucharistic Revival.
1st & 3rd Thursdays of the month, 7:00–8:15pm, in the Parish Center, November 7 – December 17, 2024. Contact Daniel Mintz for more information: liturgyDM@protonmail.com.
Miraculous Medal Novena
Perpetual Novena in honor of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal takes place every Saturday after the 8am Mass in the Church. The Miraculous Medal was manifested to Saint Catherine Laboure in Paris, France, in the year 1830. Saint Catherine’s description of the apparition of Our Lady makes it clear that the medal originated with the Mother of God herself.
